A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ME...

I don't just create, I celebrate beauty and self expression. I emphasize the importance of being playful, to not take everything so seriously, to find joy in everything I do. I believe that harmony lies between the duality of the self, lightness and darkness, and encourage people to balance both sides and use it to discover their passions.

MY STORY

Hello, I’m Genevieve (aka Nevi), a senior at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) pursuing a BFA in The Business of Beauty and Fragrance with a minor in Advertising and Branding. Ever since I was little, I was drawn to big, bold colors and design elements in things I saw around me - on television, in clothing, food, drinks and, especially, beauty products. It excited me to think that I could create things myself and it led me on a path that brought me where I am today. I began to realize this back in 6th grade when I started to develop a little business creating and selling lip scrubs to my friends at school. I’d spend hours watching makeup tutorials, how-to videos, and even baking videos just to see how things were done, and it gave me a great understanding of how these various people communicated their experience to me, an 11 year old. I wanted to do the same and understood that it wasn’t just about the thing I was creating, it was also about sharing my passion for it with others which led me to learning to edit videos (by watching video editing tutorials).

Still, it was all "just for fun" I thought… but from those childhood hobbies and aspirations my vision and curiosity began to develop and grow. I started to notice how companies’ brand and promote their products which led to a better understanding of what makes a customer loyal to a brand. I am curious and experimental, using my enthusiasm and playful energy in everything I approach. My love of visual design, the artistry in makeup, and an understanding of what makes a customer loyal to a brand have led me down this path and I couldn't be more excited about where it takes me. I hope this is more than evident in my portfolio. I would love the opportunity to discuss my projects in more detail with you, so be sure to reach out.
